1. About these terms

Larkin is provided by Julien Nérée, its founder (“Larkin”, “we”, “us”), ahead of forming a company. When a company takes over, we’ll update this page and tell you before anything changes. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data and is part of these terms.

2. A beta, for now

Larkin is an early version, offered free of charge to invited testers through Apple’s TestFlight. It may not always work: recordings can be missed or delayed, notes can be incomplete, and data can occasionally be lost. Don’t rely on Larkin as your only record of anything important. We may change, pause or end the beta at any time, and we’ll try to give you notice.

3. Who can use Larkin

You must be at least 18, and able to agree to these terms. You need an iPhone and an Apple Watch that meet the app’s requirements, and an Apple account to sign in. Keep your devices and account secure; you’re responsible for what happens through your account.

4. Recording other people

Larkin records the conversations around you, including other people’s voices. Recording laws differ from place to place, and some require everyone’s consent. You agree to:

You’re responsible for how you use Larkin and for complying with the law where you are.

5. AI-written content

Transcripts, notes, summaries, to-dos, insights, reports and answers are produced automatically by software and AI models. They can mishear, misattribute who said what, leave things out or be simply wrong. Check anything important.

Larkin’s insights are about communication habits. They are not medical, psychological, legal, financial or other professional advice, and Larkin is not a therapist or a crisis service. If you need help, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

6. Your content

Your recordings, transcripts and everything Larkin writes from them belong to you, to the extent they belong to anyone. You give us permission to store, process and transmit them, including through the providers named in our privacy policy, only as needed to run Larkin for you, to publish what you choose to share, and to keep Larkin secure. This permission ends when you delete your content or your account, except for copies our providers keep for a limited time under their own policies.

You confirm that you have the right to record and upload the content you capture with Larkin.

7. Acceptable use

Don’t use Larkin to break the law or anyone’s rights, to harass or harm people, or to share content you’re not allowed to share. Don’t try to access other people’s data, disrupt our services, reverse-engineer the app beyond what the law allows, or get around its limits.

8. Feedback

We’d love to hear what works and what doesn’t. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Larkin without owing you anything for them.

9. Ending your use

You can stop using Larkin at any time, and delete your account in Settings › Account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your use puts others at risk, or when the beta ends. Where we can, we’ll tell you first and give you time to act.

10. No warranty, and limits on liability

Larkin is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, and our total liability to you for anything relating to the beta is limited to €100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.

11. Changes

We may update these terms as Larkin changes. We’ll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email before they apply. If you keep using Larkin after that, the new terms apply.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of France, and disputes go to the French courts, unless the law where you live gives you the right to use your local courts or laws.
